Careers Founding role

Marketing Director

Build the demand engine from a standing start: paid, organic, app stores, and creators, across three very different search worlds.

$165,000 base plus founding equity. Full time, remote in the US. Starts November 1, 2026. Reports to the founder and CEO.

The role

Own end-to-end growth from a standing start. We have a live product, a deep catalog, twenty-six marketing properties, and essentially no demand engine. That absence is the job. The founder built the technology; the Marketing Director builds the customer base.

A day in the life

A composite day: the work is real, the timing is imagined, and no two days here look alike.

  1. Overnight numbers

One Reddit ad set doubled its click-through rate overnight and another went quiet. You move budget before the morning auction, and write down why so the decision can be checked next week.

  2. Launch week

One of this month's four releases ships Thursday. You review the store screenshots, rewrite the first line of the listing, and approve the launch email.

  3. A search gap

Professional licensure has a cluster of questions nobody answers well. An agent drafts twenty landing-page outlines; you keep five, rewrite two, and send the rest back with reasons.

  4. Lunch

    Somewhere with no dashboards.

  5. A creator call

An exam-prep creator with a loyal audience wants to try the product. You offer access and a fair deal, and you ask for an honest review rather than a script.

  6. Cohort review

Learners who started with a free course subscribe at a higher rate than learners from paid search. That changes where the next dollar goes, and you rebuild the plan around it.

  7. End an experiment

A landing-page test has run long enough to say it isn't working. You stop it, record what you learned, and nobody pretends it was a win.

  8. Queue tomorrow's test

One new hypothesis, one success metric, and a date to decide. Then you log off.

What you would own

  • Paid acquisition across Google, Meta, Reddit, TikTok, and whatever comes next — with a real experimentation cadence, not a quarterly campaign.
  • Organic search across a large property set spanning three genuinely different search economies: IT certification, academic test prep, and professional licensure.
  • App Store and Play Store launches — the listings, the assets, the launch surge, and the optimization discipline afterward. This is a launch you run, not one you inherit.
  • Brand, PR, and two influencer networks: the certification ecosystem and the exam-prep world.
  • Attribution and cohort analytics good enough that we can tell which channels actually work.
  • Launch marketing for a heavy release calendar — roughly four product releases a month.

What we are looking for

  • Seven or more years in consumer SaaS or DTC marketing, at least three at a senior or director level.
  • Demonstrated full-funnel ownership — paid, organic, brand, and retention, not one slice of it.
  • A product you took from zero to $1,000,000+ in ARR through marketing-led growth.
  • Analytical fluency: SQL, GA4, attribution modeling, cohort analysis.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted workflows. Content and creative volume here depend on it.

Helpful, not required

  • Education technology, certification prep, or test prep.
  • A mobile app taken from launch through 100,000+ installs.
  • Marketing to consumer and enterprise buyers at the same time.
  • Zero-to-one brand building, not only performance optimization.
